In mixed practice in Leicester before returning to Liverpool as a lecturer in the Department of Veterinary Pathology. Experience in general diagnostic clinical chemistry and pathology before specialising in histopathology and cytology. He has specialist interest in dermatopathology. Now Diplomate of the European College.



Malcolm Silkstone BVSc MRCVS DiplACVP

After qualifying in South Africa, a period of post-graduate pathology training was followed by 3 years in general practice in the UK. Since that time he has obtained extensive diagnostic pathology experience over the past 11 years culminating in gaining American Board Diplomate status. He has specialist interests in oncology and dermatopathology and infectious diseases.


Judith Hargreaves MVB MRCVS MRCPath
  Judith Hargreaves

Qualified in Dublin followed by 3 years mixed practice experience. Since the mid 1980s has obtained extensive experience in pathology and is MRCPath qualified. Judith has specialist interests in oncology, oral and upper respiratory tract pathology.




Sonja Rivers BVetMed, MSc., MRCVS, DipACVP
  Sonja Rivers

Graduate from RVC in London. 4 years in mixed practice followed by post-graduate pathology training obtaining the MSc from the RVC in London. This was followed by completing a residency in the university of Illinois Zoological Pathology Programme, culminating in gaining a diploma of the American Board of Veterinary Pathologists.

Graduate from Berlin. 5 years in mixed practice followed by post-graduate pathology training obtaining the MSc from the RVC in London.






Richard Fox BVetMed, DipECVP, MRCVS
  Richard Fox

Graduate from RVC in London. Two Years in mixed practice followed by three years of post-graduate pathology training at the University of Liverpool. This was followed by a lectureship at the Department of Veterinary Pathology. Richard has recently gained an honorary lectureship at the University of Liverpool teaching became a diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Pathologists.

Graduate from Ontario Veterinary College, Canada. Three years in practice. A Master's degree in veterinary pathology in Canada, and a residency in zoo animal pathology in the USA. She has gained her Dip ACVP and Dip RCPath qualifications. Recently she was working as a diagnostic pathologist at London Zoo and has extensive experience and interest in avian, exotic and wild animal pathology.

Lucy Genovese BSc. BVMS Dip ACVP MACVS MRCVS

Lucy Oldroyd

Graduate from Murdoch University, Western Australia. Eighteen months in mixed practice, returning to Murdoch University to complete a pathology internship. Became, by examination, a Member of the Pathobiology chapter of Australian College of Veterinary Scientists. She moved to the UK to join Abbey Veterinary Services in 1995. In 2005 became a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists.
